Slowly...

...but surely, I've begun to post more at Wordpress. I don't want to delete Blogger immediately, because Blogger lets you edit your templates and everything--something wordpress doesn't allow you to do unless you download the software for running your own blog/website onto the host server--something I'm not too familiar with and can't do at work. But as of now, wordpress has a lot of the functions that I've been looking for but had to code from scratch in Blogger. It's just easier this way for now (and more convenient). I can always play with code over here when I feel the burning desire to do so. So sad to see you go...

My finger!

I can finally type with my middle finger on my left hand again! I got a new cutlery set last week, and nearly sliced off said finger trying to halve my croissant. Dear God that is one sharp bread knife. I'm just excited I'm not typing 60wpm anymore :)

It's begun

My shoe obsession finally kicked in. I always thought I'd be one of those controlled shoppers who knew when enough was enough. We gawk at those who own 500 pairs of shoes, but honestly, how much is too much? I mean you have to have you winter pumps, your winter boots, summer sandles, work pumps, dressy sandals...the list goes on and on. And the worst part is my infatuation with designer labels. UGH! It sucks to be a fashionista sometimes.

Book Review: The Tipping Point

My boyfriend gave me this book about…5 months ago, and I just finished it this past weekend. I’m not a slow reader, I just found the book slow to read. In his book The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell explains his theory on how information and trends spread like viruses. He introduces three key players in society who he calls Connectors, Mavens, and Salesmen, and uses examples from history to show how they and the Stickiness Factor, while under the Power of Context, pushes an idea over the treshold to become a popular trend. I found these middle chapters slow to read because he inserts a lot of anecdotes about Sesame Street and Blue’s Clues and Hush Puppies to exemplify his theory. The case studies in the end are a little more practical in that he presents the problem and how his theory is a workable solution (why are cigarettes so addictive? how do we curb crime in a bad neighborhood?) Now, if only society would take these case studies into consideration and begin making a change.

5 months for that book? That speaks volumes. I'll pass on it ;)

Computer Joke

Customer: I don’t have a ‘7′ key.
Support: It’s between the ‘6′ and ‘8′ key.
Customer: I don’t have a ‘7′ key.
Support: Do you see the ‘1′ key?
Customer: Yes.
Support: What’s to the right of that?
Customer: ‘2′
Support: And further right?
Customer: ‘3′, ‘4′, ‘5′, ‘6′
Support: What’s the next key?
Customer: ‘8′
Support: It should be to the left of the ‘8′
Customer: Oh, that ‘7′ key?

MySpace sued for $30m after assault on 14-year-old

It's not the Internet's (or the government's, for that matter) responsibility to raise children. That's the parent's responsibility.

Nike Women's Marathon

I'm not a runner, contrary to popular belief because I play soccer, and I would never consider doing a marathon, let alone run a mile.

The Nike Women's Marathon is a race to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It includes a full and half marathon, both of which feature incredibly scenic views of San Francisco. From the pre-race Nike Expotique, to the on-course chocolate mile and Pedi-care station, to the elegant 2006 Finisher Necklace by Tiffany & CO.–every last detail of the race is planned with a woman in mind.

Honestly, I’d do it just for the Tiffany necklace.

So, have you won the necklace? even if no you did two good things at a time : contributed to the charity and did a good work out to your body.
